Who needs a millennial or teen sensation when you can enlist one of Hollywood’s greats to front your advertising campaign? Ermenegildo Zegna’s new campaign for the Spring/Summer 2017 season, entitled “Defining Moments” marks a new strategy for the house.
Hollywood legend Robert De Niro stars opposite young actor McCaul Lombardi in a series of images shot against the Los Angeles backdrop. Alongside the print campaigns, the label has also commissioned the director Francesco Carrozzini to shoot a series of short films recording the actors discussing their “defining moments.” talking about the hallmark junctures that changed their lives, attired in Zegna’s handsome tailoring.
Both actors are Italian-American, a happy synergy with the fact that Zegna is regarded as one of the finest Italian menswear establishments, with De Niro’s gravitas and experience contrasting with Lombardi’s recent spring to fame in the Oscar-winning American Honey.
