Chanel Spring/Summer 2021 Haute Couture

For Chanel’s 2021 haute couture, Virgine Viard married house codes to the charmed folksiness of a countryside summer family get-together.

“I love big family reunions, when the generations all come together,” she explained in the brand’s press release. Adding, “I knew we couldn’t organize a big show, that we would have to invent something else, so I came up with the idea of a small cortege that would come down the stairs of the Grand Palais and pass beneath arches of flowers. Like a family celebration, a wedding…”

Viard deployed some 30 models descend the stairs of the legendary venue in exquisite formation and enter what seems to be a feminine wonderland of florals, string lights, and wedding-like decor.

The 32-piece collection, created by the couturiers who craft Chanel’s most luxurious, detailed designs, was lighthearted, and romantic.  As always, Chanel sets the standard for artistic detailing and perfection with detailed textures, embroidered macramé, and intricate tweeds.  Discover Opulent Club on Apple News.
