Manolo Blahnik and Birkenstock announced their joining forces in merging comfort with style through their collaboration collection, which transforms its signature high heels into Birkenstock’s comfy classics.
Their day-to-night collaboration features the distinctive Birkenstock shape with the embellishment for which Blahnik is known, adding a glam edge to the ultra-functional footwear. The line features the classic Boston and Arizona footwear decked with crystal buckles, a hallmark design of the Spanish fashion designer as seen on his Hangisi pumps.
There are seven different styles in total, available starting March 24 with the blue or fuchsia velvet and black leather versions coming first. They’ll be sold on both brands’ webstores and at Manolo Blahnik’s retail locations, with a second drop due in June.
“Birkenstocks have been in my wardrobe since the very beginning (of time!),” Blahnik said in a statement. “I have loved and worn mine for many years. I am thrilled that we have been able to collaborate, fusing the Manolo Blahnik aesthetic with the everyday comfort of Birkenstocks is simply wonderful.”
