Jacob & Co. is back again with a timepiece that celebrates the groundbreaking Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ which is inspired by the fastest hypercar ever created – the Chiron Super Sport 300+. Bugatti became the first carmaker to break through the 300 mph barrier. (304.773 mph, to be exact)
Hyper-complicated yet sporty, the ultra-exclusive timepiece is offered in just three pieces, each priced at $580,000. Its forged carbon and black DLC Grade 5 Titanium and orange details match the paint scheme of the Chiron Super Sport 300+ beautifully and by the technical performance of the engine.
The Jacob & Co.’s Twin Turbo Furious incorporates two accelerated triple-axis tourbillons escapements and a decimal minute repeater that strikes the time much like a minute repeater, but chimes the hours, and the 10-minutes past the hours and the minutes instead of the hours, quarter hours and minutes past the hours.
The power reserve is labeled “300+” displayed on the dial side at six o’clock. Thanks to an ingenious planetary system comprising a differential gear mechanism, the hand points to a full power reserve on the left, then moves to the right as the 50 hours of reserve winds down. The watch is wound up through the crank placed on the crown at three o’clock.
