MB&F Introduces The LM Perpetual EVO

The new MB&F Legacy Machine Perpetual EVO is a sporty take on the classic Legacy Machine the most complicated MB&F watch when it was launched in 2015. The EVO is an entirely new sporty edition with 270ft water-resistant version.

Composed to achieve maximum clarity and legibility, it is constructed with a 44mm zirconium case with sapphire crystal across the face and case back.  A specially developed monobloc shock-absorbing system “FlexRing” that makes for the most robust Machine ever to emerge from MB&F.  Featuring the bright new color option “atomic orange” and an ergonomic silicone rubber strap for the first time on an MB&F watch creation.

Three options of PVD/CVD dial-plate color, including for the first time in a high-end piece of Swiss watchmaking atomic orange. And a closely fitted, integrated strap for the smoothest wearing experience of any MB&F Machine ever.

Mechanically the EVO is identical to the LM. The movement was developed by Stephen McDonnell, a watchmaker little known outside the industry until his work for MB&F. While conventional perpetual calendars are generally built as modules fitted on top of an existing movement, the LM Perpetual is driven by a fully integrated 581-component calibre whose suspended balance beats at 18,000 vibrations per hour with an autonomy of 72 hours.

LM Perpetual is driven by a fully integrated 581-component calibre whose suspended balance beats at 18,000 vibrations per hour with an autonomy of 72 hours. The mechanical processor consists of a series of superimposed disks that utilizes a default 28-day month and adds extra days as required. This means that each month always has the exact number of days required; and removes the possibility of the date jumping incorrectly. Also, while the leap year can only be set on traditional perpetual calendars by scrolling through up to 47 months, the Legacy Machine Perpetual has a dedicated quickset pusher to adjust the year.

The LM Perpetual EVO is offered in three vibrant dial colors – a dial plate coated in “atomic orange”, blue, and black. Each colorway is limited to 15 pieces only and is priced at $167,000.
